Kilka lat temu rozmawiałem z pewnym księdzem o Bożym Miłosierdziu. Zastanawialiśmy się nad tym, czym ono jest? I pamiętam z tej rozmowy jedno zdanie: to prawda, możemy liczyć na Boże Miłosierdzie, ale my kapłani zostaniemy rozliczeni bardzo mocno z tego jak bardzo odciągaliśmy ludzi od Chrystusa.
Gdy słyszymy w księdze Jeremiasza słowa Wy rozproszyliście moją trzodę, rozpędziliście i nie zatroszczyliście się o nią, to przed oczami mogą nam stawać właśnie tacy kapłani. Ale na szczęście jest Bóg, który sam troszczy się o swoje owce. A to znaczy, że jedynym i prawdziwym Pasterzem jest Bóg. Wszyscy inni, kapłani, są o tyle pasterzami, o ile uczestniczą w tym jedynym pasterstwie. Co więcej, Bóg daje obietnicę, że nie pozwoli zostawić swojej trzody. To właśnie czyni Jezus w dzisiejszej Ewangelii. To jest niezwykłe, jak On pochyla się nad człowiekiem. Widzi tłum i ogarnia Go litość. A przecież, jak każdemu, należał Mu się odpoczynek. On jednak nie zostawia ludzi samych – przychodzi i sam zaczyna być pasterzem i naucza.
